Parcel Builder-MapEditor includes Workflow, an addition to ArcMap where the user can manipulate the editing environment and execute tools and applications from a single panel. Common editing tasks are executed from the intuitive Workflow panel rather than cluttered toolbars and menus. One or more interface settings can be manipulated through the execution of a single 'step'. Steps can be executed individually or as part of a 'process' that constrains the user to executing a series of steps in order.
Changeable interface settings include:
- Visible Layers
- Selectable Layers
- Snapping Environment
- Edit Task
- Edit Target
- Tool Selection
- External Application
Processes and steps are simple to create and are saved to standard XML documents that can be loaded into the Workflow panel at a later time. Workflow simplifies GIS maintenance by reducing mouse clicks, minimizing forgetfulness of tool location, and ensuring tasks are accomplished the same way every time.
